What is EDC?

Education Development Center, Inc. is an international, nonprofit organization with more than 325 projects dedicated to enhancing learning, promoting health, and fostering a deeper understanding of the world. Where is EDC located? In what countries does EDC work?

EDC has offices around the world. Our main office is in Newton, Massachusetts. For more information, visit the Contact Us/Offices page.

Does EDC provide funding?

No. EDC is not a funding organization. We receive grants and contracts from federal agencies and private foundations to carry out specific projects. For more information, explore About EDC.

Can I submit an article or a link for inclusion on the EDC Web site?

The EDC Web site is an organizational Web site, informing the public about EDC’s work and providing links to EDC’s family of project Web sites. We do not accept articles for publication on the EDC Web site, nor do we publish a list of links to other organizations’ Web sites. However, many of our project Web sites feature links to other Web sites and organizations that are related to their content area. For more information, explore EDC project Web sites.

How do I contact an EDC employee?

Please visit the Staff page to look up the e-mail address of any EDC employee. In general, e-mail addresses are first initial and last name @edc.org (for example, Jane Doe would be jdoe@edc.org). You can also call EDC’s switchboard at 617-969-7100 to be directed to an employee.

I’m a journalist and wish to contact an EDC expert or do a story on an EDC project, who should I contact?

I wish to reproduce materials developed by EDC, who do I contact for rights and permissions issues?

I encountered a broken link on the EDC Web site; who should I contact?

For the domains, "main.edc.org" and "secure.edc.org," send an e-mail message including the link and information about where the link is supposed to go to comment@edc.org. For all other EDC Web sites use the contact info of the Webmaster that is included on the site. If you cannot locate this information, send your inquiry to the e-mail address above and your message will be passed on to the appropriate person.

How do I sign up for publications like EDC Update or the EDC Online Report?

I would like to obtain a copy of an old EDC curriculum such as Man: A Course of Study (MACOS), Elementary Science Study (ESS), or From Subject to Citizen.

Unfortunately, these materials are out of print and not available for purchase.
