Driving to EDC Newton

From Route 128 (Interstate 95)

  1. Get off Rte 128 (I-95) at Exit 21. Take Rte 16 East.
  2. Chapel St. is about 5 miles from the Rte 128 exit along Rte 16.
  3. In West Newton, after crossing over the Mass Pike, Rte 16 takes a left fork near the Police Station. Follow Rte 16 to the left.
  4. Pass Dunkin Donuts at Adams St.; at the next set of lights, turn left on Chapel St.
  5. EDC's offices are in the four-story building on the left at #55 (look for the blue awning).

From Mass Pike (I-90) Eastbound (toward Boston)

  1. Get off Pike at Exit 17, the first exit after toll booth at Rte. 128 (Interstate 95).
  2. After merging into traffic, bear left (back over the Pike) and then quickly merge right. Follow overhead sign for "Watertown". At very first set of lights, immediately after overhead sign, turn left onto Pearl St.
  3. Continue on Pearl St. to the end.
  4. Turn left onto Watertown St (Rte. 16).
  5. At first full traffic light, turn right onto Chapel St. EDC's offices are at #55 (look for the blue awning).
  6. If you see Dunkin Donuts, you've gone two blocks too far on Watertown Street.

From Mass Pike (I-90) Westbound (out of Boston)

  1. Get off Pike at Exit 17.
  2. Follow overhead sign for "Watertown." At very first set of lights, immediately after overhead sign, turn left onto Pearl St.
  3. Continue on Pearl St. to the end.
  4. Turn left onto Watertown St (Rte. 16).
  5. At first full traffic light, turn right onto Chapel St. EDC's offices are at #55 (look for the blue awning).
  6. If you see Dunkin Donuts, you've gone two blocks too far on Watertown Street.

From Watertown Square

  1. Follow Rte 16 across bridge (right-hand lane) over the Charles River.
  2. Turn right onto Rte. 16 immediately after crossing the bridge.
  3. There is a traffic light at a fork in road (Mobil Station). Bear left, staying on Rte. 16.
  4. About 3/4 of a mile from fork, you will come to a full set of lights (you'll have passed small U.S. Post Office on your left).
  5. Turn right onto Chapel Street. EDC's offices are at #55 (look for the blue awning).
  6. If you see Dunkin Donuts, you've gone two blocks too far on Watertown Street.

From Downtown Boston or Cambridge (via parkways)

  1. Follow parkways (Storrow Drive to Soldiers Field Road to Nonantum Road) along Boston side of Charles River.
  2. About 1/2 mile after passing the MDC Skating Rink and Newton Yacht Club on the right, you reach an intersection with lights. Continue through this intersection.
  3. Almost immediately, you'll see a traffic light at a fork in the road (Watertown Gas & Service Station). Bear left, staying on Rte. 16.
  4. About 3/4 of a mile from fork, you will come to a full set of lights (you'll have passed small U.S. Post Office on your left).
  5. Turn right onto Chapel Street. EDC's offices are at #55 (look for the blue awning).
  6. If you see Dunkin Donuts, you've gone two blocks too far.

From Logan Airport

  1. From Logan Airport, follow signs to Mass Pike (I-90). As of early 2007, this still involves a major detour, due to construction on the Ted Williams tunnel.
  2. Get off Pike at Exit 17.
  3. Follow overhead sign for "Watertown." At very first set of lights, immediately after overhead sign, turn left onto Pearl St.
  4. Continue on Pearl St. to the end.
  5. Turn left onto Watertown St (Rte. 16).

Parking at EDC Newton

There are two lots on Chapel Street. There is another, bigger lot on Bridge Street, which runs parallel to Chapel St. behind EDC. On-street parking is OK on Chapel Street for about an hour. (They do ticket.) To park in an EDC lot, you must get a Visitor Parking Permit from the receptionist in the main lobby.

Public Transportation to EDC Newton

EDC is reachable by public transportation from downtown Boston or Cambridge.

From Harvard Square

  1. Take the 71 Bus to the end of the line.
  2. Cross over the bridge.
  3. Turn right onto Rte. 16 East / Watertown St.
  4. There is a traffic light at a fork in road (Watertown Gas & Service Station). Bear left, staying on Rte. 16 / Watertown St.
  5. About 3/4 of a mile from fork, you will come to a full set of lights (you'll have passed small U.S. Post Office on your left).
  6. Turn right onto Chapel Street. EDC's offices are at #55 (look for the blue awning).

From Boston

  1. From Downtown/South Station, take the 504 Express Bus to the end of the line (Watertown Yard). From Copley Square, take the 502 Express Bus to the end of the line (Watertown Yard). Or, from Kenmore Square, take the 57 Watertown Bus to the end of the line (Watertown Yard).
  2. Follow signs to Rte. 16 East / Watertown St.
  3. There is a traffic light at a fork in road (Watertown Gas & Service Station). Bear left, staying on Rte. 16 / Watertown St.

Alternatives

  1. From Watertown Square/Yard, you can also take the 59 Bus to the corner of Watertown St. and Chapel St. But you're probably better off walking (it's about a 15-20 minute walk).
  2. The 558 Bus runs between Auburndale/West Newton and Boston via Waltham, Chapel St., and Newton Corner.

Subway to EDC New York

From the 1 and 9 trains

Uptown-bound riders

  1. Get off at West Houston Street and walk West until you get to Greenwich Street.
  2. Make a right onto Greenwich Street and walk until you get to Morton Street.
  3. Turn left.

Downtown bound riders

  1. Take the train to the Christopher Street station.
  2. Walk south on 7th Avenue South (also known as Varick Street) until you reach Morton Street.
  3. Take a right on Morton Street.

From trains A, B, C, D, E, & F

  1. Get off at the West 4th Street station (use the West 3rd Street exit) and walk south on Sixth Avenue until you get to Bleecker Street.
  2. Make a right on Bleecker and walk until you get to Morton Street.
  3. Turn left.

From New Jersey

  1. Take the 33rd Street PATH train from either Hoboken or Journal Square and get off at Christopher Street.
  2. Make a right and you will be on Greenwich Street.
  3. Turn left onto Greenwich Street and walk two blocks.
  4. EDC is on the corner of Morton and Greenwich.

Bus to EDC New York

From Midtown

  1. The M20 bus, which runs from Columbus Circle south down 7th Avenue, comes the closest to EDC.
  2. Get off at the Morton Street stop (a few streets after Christopher Street).
  3. Walk two blocks west (past Hudson Street) to Greenwich Street.
  4. Our building, 96 Morton Street, is on the corner of Morton and Greenwich Streets.

From the Upper West Side

  1. If you're coming from Amsterdam, Columbus or Tenth Avenues and don't mind a short walk, you can take the M11 bus, which runs south along 9th Avenue (Columbus Avenue).
  2. Get off at the Bethune Street/Abingdon Square stop (at Hudson Street).
  3. Walk south along Hudson Street until you reach Morton Street.
  4. Take a right on Morton Street.
  5. Our building, 96 Morton Street, is on the corner of Morton and Greenwich Streets.

From All Other Points

  1. Take the nearest uptown or downtown avenue bus to any crosstown bus below 57th Street (buses run crosstown in both directions at 57th, 42nd, 34th, 23rd and 14th Streets; buses run crosstown west only at 49th and 9th Streets, and run crosstown east only at 50th and 8th Streets).
  2. Take the crosstown bus to the M20: If traveling downtown, pick it up at 7th Avenue; if traveling uptown, pick it up at Hudson or West Streets.
  3. Get off at the Morton Street stop.
  4. Our building, 96 Morton Street, is on the corner of Morton and Greenwich Streets.

Driving to EDC New York

From the West Side Highway (Joe DiMaggio Hwy)

  1. Exit West Side Highway onto Christopher Street.
  2. Turn right onto Washington Street.
  3. Drive three blocks and turn left onto Morton Street. Several parking lots are available in the neighborhood. (You will pass one on Washington Street.)

Driving from Ronald Reagan International Airport to EDC Washington

  1. Take George Washington Memorial Parkway North towards GW Parkway North about 2.1 miles.
  2. Take the Memorial Bridge 50 W exit towards Arlington Cemetery.
  3. Bear right onto Arlington Memorial Bridge.
  4. Bear right on Lincoln Memorial Circle SW.
  5. Turn left on 23rd Street NW.
  6. Turn right on Washington Circle NW.
  7. Continue on K Street NW and turn right on Potomac Street NW.
  8. The entrance to the building is on the left.

Driving from Dulles International Airport (IAD) to EDC Washington

  1. Start going towards the Airport exit on Dulles Airport Access Road about 14.2 miles.
  2. Continue on VA-267 East about 2.3 miles.
  3. Continue on I-66.
  4. Exit towards Kennedy Center/Whitehurst Freeway.
  5. Merge onto Potomac River Freeway North.
  6. Take the L Street NW exit towards Whitehurst Freeway/Canal Road
  7. Bear right on Pennsylvania Avenue NW.
  8. Turn right on Washington Circle NW
  9. Continue on K Street NW and turn right onto Potomac Street NW.
  10. The entrance to the building is on the left.

Driving from Baltimore Washington International Airport (BWI) to EDC Washington

  1. Start going towards the Airport exit on Metropolitan Boulevard.
  2. Bear right to take MD-295 South towards Washington Parkway and Washington DC.
  3. Take US 50 West towards Washington.
  4. Continue on US 1-Alternate South/US 50 West.
  5. Bear right on New York Avenue NW.
  6. Bear right on Mt. Vernon Place NW.
  7. Turn left on 9th Street NW. Turn right on K Street NW and turn right onto Potomac Street NW.
