Traffic Safety

Traffic crashes are one of the major causes of death and injury in the United States. EDC conducts several projects aimed at reducing the risks of this public health issue, including many designed to help hard to reach populations like children and non-English speakers. Among the resources developed by EDC are Web sites, reports, and newsletters.

Latino Outreach

Latinos in the United States are at higher risk for traffic-related injuries compared to the general population. The Education in Traffic Safety/Educación de seguridad en el tránsito project aims to reduce these disparities by fostering the development of effective educational materials in Spanish. The project is producing guidelines for developing traffic safety materials that are culturally and linguistically appropriate for Spanish-speaking audiences.
