The conference is held in San Antonio, Texas from February 23–25, 2006. The institute will be held in Denver, Colorado from February 27–March 3, 2006. The session will focus on the needs of Hispanic children and their families, the partnership research, and the steps programs can take to reach and improve services to Hispanic families. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills (DIBELS) SummitDIBELS are a set of standardized, individually administered measures of early literacy development. They are designed to be short fluency measures used to regularly monitor the development of pre-reading and early reading skills. Their annual conference is being held in Chicago from April 1–3, 2006 and has the theme: "Constructing the Future, Challenging the Past: Excellence in Learning Teaching and Leadership." Learn more about the ASCD Annual Conference Amy Aparicio Clark and Amanda Dickerson, Center for Family, School, and Community In this session, discover proven strategies that community- and university-based outreach programs use to make Latino parents true partners in making postsecondary education a reality for their children.
