	The Adult Literacy Media Alliance (ALMA) Newsletter ALMA's mission is to help adults gain basic reading, writing, and math skills. ALMA creates innovative, educationally sound, and entertaining television-based teaching materials and cultivates community networks to support ALMA learners. 	Center for Children & Families (CC&F) Newsletter CC&F works to improve the lives of children by supporting the organizations and institutions that serve them and their families. 	Center for Children and Technology (CCT) Newsletter CCT investigates the roles technology can play in improving teaching and learning. Center staff conduct basic, applied, and formative research and technology development in collaboration with educational, corporate, and research institutions. CCTNEWS is the center's bimonthly email newsletter that highlights the latest research findings, design prototypes, conference presentations, feature articles, and other work and documents. 	Center for Science Education (CSE) Newsletter CSE is focused on improving and supporting science education, from preschool through grade 12. CSE assists school districts, state agencies, and higher education institutions through the development and implementation of standards-based curriculum materials, high-quality professional development and technical support, and comprehensive research and evaluation studies. 	CSN Weekly News This newsletter, produced by the Children’s Safety Network (CSN), provides weekly updates of events, news, and developments related to the prevention of injuries in children and youth. 	The DOT-COM Alliance Newsletter DOT-COMments is the newsletter of the DOT-COM Alliance. The alliance applies information and communications technology (ICT) to achieving development objectives around the world. EDC leads the dot-EDU aspect of the alliance, which strengthens the quality of, expands access to, and enhances the equity of programs in basic education, teacher training, and higher education through ICT. EQUIP3 / Youth Trust is a USAID-funded mechanism led by EDC that improves the quality of education and learning opportunities for out-of-school children, youth, and young adults. 	Health and Human Development Programs (HHD) Newsletter Healthy Progress is the quarterly newsletter of HHD, an EDC division. HHD embraces a broad view of health as physical, mental, and social well-being, not merely the absence of disease. Guided by the belief that the health and safety of a nation’s people are an integral part of its overall success, HHD also addresses underlying factors—such as socioeconomic status, gender, race, and the environment—that affect human development. 	The Higher Education Center for Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse and Violence Prevention Newsletter The Higher Education Center publishes the online newsletter, Catalyst, as a vehicle for news in the prevention of campus-based alcohol and other drug abuse and violent behavior (AODV). 	ITEST Newsletter This newsletter shares the work of teachers and students participating in ITEST (Information Technology Experiences for Students and Teachers) projects across the United States. Participating educators and young people work hand in hand with scientists and engineers on extended research projects that carry them beyond the classroom, using technology to explore topics ranging from biotechnology to environmental resource management. 	Literacy Matters Newsletter This newsletter keeps readers abreast of professional development activities, upcoming events, new resources on the Literacy Matters Web site, and links to additional sources of information about literacy and what matters most in today's classrooms. The goal of the Literacy Matters project is to improve the literacy development of middle grades and secondary school students, especially those students who are struggling to succeed. 	National Center for Mental Health Promotion and Youth Violence Prevention Newsletter The National Center for Mental Health Promotion and Youth Violence Prevention provides technical assistance and training to 118 school districts and communities that receive grants from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMSHA) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The center's newsletter provides monthly updates of news from the center and the field, grant opportunities, conferences and presentations, and information about grantees at work. 	The National Dropout Prevention Center for Students with Disabilities (NDPC-SD) Produced quarterly, Big IDEAs: Dropout Prevention Strategies keeps readers abreast of professional development activities, upcoming events, new data and materials, synthesis of research, survey results, Spotlights, FAQs, Web site updates, and links to additional sources of information about the implementation of scientifically validated dropout prevention, educational and reentry programs, and evaluation policies and practices.
