Transforming Lives, our new annual report, tells the stories of four people from around the world whose lives have been transformed by the education, assistance, opportunity, and knowledge offered through EDC's projects. 3. The Best in Educational Research

EDC is home to the Northeast and Islands Regional Educational Laboratory (NEIREL), 1 of 10 labs funded by the federal government’s Institute of Education Sciences. 7. Combating Human Trafficking in Bahrain

More than 50,000 foreign workers are employed as domestics in Bahrain today, yet they lack legal protection from exploitation or abuse. EDC is working with the government of Bahrain and human rights organizations to reform labor law and practice in the country and to crack down on organized crime networks that traffic in human labor.
