EDC has developed a volunteer program for hospital waiting rooms that helps patients improve their health literacy. Read more: 7. An “Underperforming” District Turns AroundAs the number of “underperforming” school districts grows, the question of how to turn these districts around becomes even more urgent. Education leaders from the world’s largest Muslim nation visited EDC this fall to exchange ideas and learn from colleagues here, part of a national school improvement effort in that country. A Helping Hand for Children with DisabilitiesFamilies of children with Down syndrome, autism, and other early diagnoses or congenital disabilities often turn to specialists to help with parenting, health care, and resources.
