Erica Macheca, a managing editor for EDC’s U.S. Division, has contributed her strategic communications expertise to EDC for over 25 years. She specializes in product development, knowledge mobilization, developmental editing, and user experience. A versatile writer, she has extensive experience developing compelling health, behavioral health, and education resources that share research with diverse audiences.
Currently, Macheca advances strategic communications for REL Northeast & Islands at EDC and Behavioral Health Excellence Technical Assistance Center projects. Collaborating with subject matter experts, she translates complex topics into clear, engaging, and culturally responsive resources—including issue briefs, success stories, blog posts, case studies, online tools, slide presentations, and newsletters.
Previously, Macheca played key roles in advancing the communications strategies of national technical assistance centers at EDC that focused on mental health promotion and violence prevention, educational research, substance misuse prevention, and school health. She has managed resource postings to high-traffic websites, launched and edited blogs, and overseen mass email communication platforms.
Macheca holds a BA in Child Development from Tufts University and received her PMD Pro Certification in Project Management from APMG International.
