Jim Vetter has over 25 years of experience supporting communities across the United States and around the world in promoting social and emotional learning (SEL) and well-being. With deep knowledge of interactive online and in-person training and coaching strategies, he provides leadership and guidance to a range of EDC initiatives.
Vetter serves as an SEL and bullying prevention subject matter expert for the Children’s Safety Network at EDC, supporting state health departments nationally. In co-leading technical assistance for EDC’s Social and Emotional Learning & Mental Health Academy, he helps Massachusetts schools and districts promote students’ SEL and mental health well-being, using a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) approach. As a member of EDC’s Rapid Assessment and Action Planning team, he coaches numerous communities across the country around effective implementation of evidence-based SEL and mental health supports.
Vetter is on the leadership team of the Social-Emotional Learning Alliance for the United States (SEL4US). Previously, he directed suicide and youth violence prevention programs at the Virginia Department of Health.
Vetter holds an EdM from Harvard University.
