For 25 years, Melanie Sany has been at the forefront of designing, steering, and assessing workforce development and education initiatives in over 25 countries. Her mission is to advance workforce and livelihood development, with a focus on equipping youth with the work readiness and green skills and market support services necessary for success in a dynamic marketplace.
Currently, Sany leads EDC’s International Youth and Workforce Development Team, overseeing the design and execution of high-impact systemic initiatives. She brings a unique blend of private- and public-sector perspectives and is adept at deploying multi-sector strategies in social innovation, entrepreneurship, and small business growth; formal and nonformal education; technical and vocational training; system strengthening; and capacity-building of community-based organizations.
Sany spearheads Our World, Our Work, a 10-year initiative focusing on the intersection of climate action, youth, and employment. The initiative aims to accelerate youth employment and entrepreneurship in a green economy.
Sany holds an MBA from the Audencia Nantes School of Management and an MA from the Université Paris-Est Marne-la-Vallée, both in France. She is fluent in French and English.
