Susan Bruckner is a senior international development specialist with extensive experience in basic education and program management. In her role as project director and technical advisor to programs in Asia, Africa, and Central America, Bruckner provides support to programs implementing EDC’s signature Read Right Now early-grade reading program, integrated math and literacy efforts, community engagement, social and emotional learning, and inclusive education. A former elementary and middle school teacher, she previously worked for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), serving in Indonesia, Pakistan, and Rwanda. While at USAID, she managed basic education and workforce development portfolios and collaborated with ministries of education, nongovernmental organizations, and private sector partners to design and implement high-quality, sustainable programming and to inform policy.
