Terresa Humphries-Wadsworth is a licensed psychologist and an expert in mental health promotion, suicide prevention and postvention, and behavioral health crisis care. A skilled manager and leader with a deep commitment to improving outcomes for individuals with suicide risk, she has over 25 years of clinical experience providing mental health services in remote, rural, and urban settings.
Humphries-Wadsworth is an associate project director of EDC initiatives such as the National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention and the Suicide Prevention Resource Center. As the director of a contract with Vibrant Emotional Health, she led a team that supported states and territories in preparing for the rollout of the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. She has also led the development of resources on screening for suicide risk during telehealth visits, best practices in care transitions for individuals with suicide risk, and engaging people with lived experience. She co-led the development of state suicide prevention infrastructure recommendations.
Previously, Humphries-Wadsworth was the contracted director of Statewide Suicide Prevention in Wyoming.
Humphries-Wadsworth holds a PhD in Counseling Psychology from Texas A&M University.
