Nada Berrada, a dedicated youth researcher, focuses on understanding social, political, cultural, and economic contexts and improving young people’s outcomes in under-resourced communities. She brings youth expertise, as well as multi-sectoral experience, spanning universities, nonprofits, think tanks, and a multinational corporation, to support project management and technical staff on youth and gender projects in Africa and the Middle East.
Before joining EDC, Berrada was conducting doctoral research to unravel the experiences of coming of age as young people navigate the political, social, and economic contexts in which they find themselves and that daily shape their exercise of agency in their family, school, and work in Morocco. Berrada has also taught hundreds of young students at Virginia Tech’s Department of Political Science and Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth.
In addition to her BA in Political Science and Economics from Mohammed VI Polytechnic University in Morocco, Berrada holds an MA in Public and International Affairs and a PhD in Political Science and Sociology from Virginia Tech. She is fluent in Arabic, French, and English.
