This September, EDC will again sponsor the annual Making Cents’ Global Youth Economic Opportunities Summit. The summit will be held September 28–30 in Washington, D.C.
EDC experts will share our experience regarding youth workforce development and work readiness in countries around the world. The sessions include the following:
- Annie Alcid and Cynthia Iradukunda will present on a highly participatory and phased training approach used by EDC’s Akazi Kanoze Youth Livelihoods Project in Rwanda. Attendees will take part in a mock training activity and learn about a local partner’s monitoring toolkit.
- Panelists Tania Tzelnic, Anne Marie Mukarugambwa, and Maja Cvetanoska will discuss EDC’s experiences in Macedonia, Rwanda, and the Lower Mekong countries. They will focus on lessons learned from embedding work readiness and transition-to-work activities into the formal education sector. The session will be moderated by Melanie Sany.
EDC will also present poster sessions hosted by Alcid, Chris Murray, Ann Hershkowitz, and Rebecca Pagel.
