EDC’s online course Opioid Overdose Prevention: Understanding the Basics earned a platinum award in the 2018 eHealthcare Leadership Awards, a competition that recognizes the best websites and digital communications of healthcare organizations and related agencies. The course won in two categories: Best Healthcare Content and Best Interaction. This is the second eHealthcare award EDC has won for an online program.
Opioid Overdose Prevention: Understanding the Basics is an interactive, self-paced e-learning course that helps practitioners understand and address today’s devastating opioid emergency. The course provides up-to-date information on opioid overdose and promising strategies to address it. It also contains the short video What Is Naloxone?, which describes how this opioid overdose-reversal medication works.
“With thousands of people dying each day from opioid overdoses, it’s our responsibility as prevention leaders to ensure that practitioners working in the field have the information they need to save lives,” says Melanie Adler, a project director at EDC and a co-developer of the course. “This course puts this important information at their fingertips.”
