Adam Chu, associate project director, is an expert in suicide prevention and behavioral health. A highly skilled technical assistance specialist and experienced manager, he leads projects that build capacity to deliver effective suicide prevention services in emergency departments, primary care, and inpatient and outpatient settings. Nationwide, he advances the suicide prevention efforts of states, communities, civilian health and behavioral health care systems, and military treatment facilities.
Chu is the project director for EDC’s collaboration with the Service Members, Veterans, and their Families Technical Assistance Center. He assists the Manchester, NH, Veterans Administration Medical Center in implementing the Zero Suicide framework and manages administration of the Zero Suicide Organizational Self-Study and Zero Suicide Workforce Survey. He also leads projects focused on quality improvement and data collection that highlight the impact of Zero Suicide.
Chu has co-authored articles in Journal of Health Care Compliance, Alcoholism: Clinical and Experimental Research, and Psychopharmacology. Recently, he blogged about helping emergency departments prevent suicide.
Chu holds a BS from Tufts University and an MPH from Boston University School of Public Health.
