Andrew Lewis, a committed and passionate development professional, has 25 years of leadership and technical experience working on U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) programs in more than 20 countries. As EDC’s chief of party on USAID’s Teach for Tomorrow project in Egypt, he leads the project team to support the Government of Egypt in designing and implementing a comprehensive system for continuous professional development and licensure for all teachers and leaders in the primary education system.
Additionally, Lewis has more than 10 years of executive-level experience in 25 countries as well as project backstopping and proposal development experience on a wide range of technical requirements, including early grade reading, health supply chain management, democracy and governance, and youth development. He is adept at building highly motivated teams in diverse settings and cultures.
Lewis has strong communication and facilitation skills gained through liaising with host country counterparts and USAID to align programs to the country context and the priorities of stakeholders on the ground.
Lewis holds a BA in Anthropology from the University of Tennessee.
