Christina N’Tchougan-Sonou is an educational development professional with over 20 years of experience in educational management and project implementation in West and North Africa and the Middle East. She served as the chief of party for four USAID projects in three African countries as well as the project director of education and youth workforce development projects in multiple countries, working from the United States.
N’Tchougan-Sonou has extensive experience managing complex educational reform initiatives and working with NGO partners in conflict settings. Her career portfolio comprises a range of projects, including curriculum and teacher training reform, e-learning, and accelerated education, as well as strengthening early grade reading, integrating gender equity and life skills within formal and nonformal education settings, and promoting youth-led solutions to school dropout. She has supervised small-scale grants initiatives and school infrastructure improvements, worked on large procurements, and is experienced in overseeing monitoring and evaluation. As a project leader, she seeks to bring out the best in diverse project teams.
Fluent in English and French, N’Tchougan-Sonou holds a DPhil in Educational Studies from Oxford University.
