Julia McGuirk is the senior business development associate for the U.S. Division. She brings extensive expertise in nonprofit development and fundraising, project management, funder communications, financial reporting, and strategic planning to the division.
For three years, as a U.S. Division finance manager, McGuirk facilitated complex fiscal operations for REL Northeast & Islands at EDC and a portfolio focused on school improvement. In this capacity, she collaborated with project and division leadership to prepare budgets, monitor finances, and strategically forecast expenses and income. Earlier in her career at EDC, McGuirk developed and tracked comprehensive work plans, wrote progress reports, and contributed to strategic planning for project deliverables.
Previously, McGuirk was a senior content developer at Cengage, where she managed the production of textbooks, digital projects, and video tutorials. Beyond EDC, she is the president of the board of directors of the Brookline Symphony Orchestra.
McGuirk holds an MBA from the University of Massachusetts-Boston and a BA in English from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. She received her PMD Pro certification as a project manager from APMG International.
