Kristy Whitcomb brings extensive expertise in public health, early childhood education, home visiting, continuous quality improvement (CQI), and program evaluation. An experienced leader, she is passionate about advancing coordinated efforts to best serve the needs of young people and their families.
As a senior training and technical assistance (TTA) associate for EDC’s First 10 initiative, Whitcomb collaborates with states and communities to implement the First 10 model to establish high-quality, cohesive educational, parenting, and community supports. In addition, Whitcomb is the director of EDC’s Center for Early Learning Professionals, Rhode Island’s hub for professional development (PD) and TA to the early childhood and afterschool community.
Prior to joining EDC, Whitcomb served as an assistant health program administrator, First Connections manager, CQI lead, and PD coordinator for the Rhode Island Department of Health’s Office (RIDOH) of Family Visiting and Center for HIV, Hepatitis, STI, and TB Epidemiology.
Whitcomb holds an MPH from George Washington University-Milken Institute School of Public Health. Currently, she is a DrPH candidate, with a focus on Health Education, at Loma Linda University.
