Seni Diop joined EDC in 2016 as the chief of party of the APTE-Senegal project. Currently, he is the national project director for the Vocational Training and Transition to Work Program (Projet de Formation Professionnelle et d’Insertion). Before EDC, he was the director of World Education Inc., in Benin, Guinea, and Côte d’Ivoire.
With over 30 years of experience, Diop has in-depth expertise in labor markets and youth employment, governance, decentralization, community participation, gender development, conflict management, and peace building. He is extremely knowledgeable about the barriers to children’s education in Guinea and other parts of West Africa, factors leading to exploitive labor and the worst forms of child labor, and strategies for prevention and reintegration.
Diop has strong skills in managing relationships with governments in Africa and with civil society as well as project management, planning, training, institutional development, and evaluation skills. He is experienced in designing and adapting curricula, testing, and training of trainers.
Diop has an MS in Economics and Business Management from the Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar, Senegal.
