Sokoni Davis, a national expert in K–12 education, adult education, and school improvement, builds capacity to foster learners’ career readiness and lifelong success. She brings extensive experience as a program leader, change consultant, school turnaround and transformation advisor, trainer, and literacy specialist.
Davis is a senior training and technical assistance (TA) specialist for REL Northeast & Islands at EDC. In this role, she oversees teams that provide continuous improvement training, coaching, and TA to schools, districts, and state education agencies. She also leads the efforts of partnerships that provide research, data, and evidence-use support, and she contributes thought leadership, management, and quality assurance guidance to multiple initiatives.
Before joining EDC, Davis was a senior transformation, school improvement, and literacy consultant supporting initiatives at state education departments, districts, and schools. She is certified in grades 6–12 English education and served as a teacher and department chair in Chicago Public Schools for over 12 years.
Davis holds an EdD in Educational and Ethical Leadership with a research concentration on Career and Technical Education from Olivet Nazarene University.
