Stefan McLetchie is an International Development Division (IDD) senior project director for an early-grade reading project in Zambia and a youth workforce development project in Djibouti. He also leads IDD’s professional development (PD) work, coordinating and implementing PD opportunities for staff.
Since joining EDC, McLetchie has served as the chief of party (COP) and project director for the Teacher Motivation and Training project in Benin, West Africa; the project director for projects in the Comoros, Lebanon, South Africa, and Djibouti; and the deputy COP and COP for the Time To Learn Project in Zambia. He has also provided technical and managerial support to projects in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda and was the regional coordinator for the East and Southern Africa regions.
Previously, McLetchie designed and directed after-school programs and was the director of School Services at the Metropolitan Center for Urban Education at New York University (NYU).
McLetchie holds BS degrees in Psychology and French from Tufts University and a Master’s Degree in International Education from NYU. He is fluent in French.
