EDC Announces Course, Roundtable on Opioids
Prevention Solutions@EDC invites practitioners working to address the opioid crisis to take part in an upcoming online course and a virtual roundtable. Public health professionals, law enforcement personnel, prevention practitioners, and others who are interested are invited to join the course, Opioid Overdose Prevention: Understanding the Basics, and the roundtable, What Is a Comprehensive Approach to Opioid Overdose Prevention?

- Online, self-paced course that examines the scope of the opioid crisis, factors associated with opioid overdose, and strategies to reduce opioid misuse and overdose

- Length: 5 hours
Opioid Overdose Prevention: Understanding the Basics was recently recognized by the 2018 eHealthcare Leadership Awards (platinum award) and the 2018 Omni Awards (three bronze medals).
Participants who enroll in the online course before January 23 will also be registered for the virtual roundtable on January 24. Information on joining the roundtable will be shared following course registration.
What Is a Comprehensive Approach to Opioid Overdose Prevention?

Prevention Solutions@EDC also offers nine other online, self-paced courses covering a variety of topics, including ethics, preventing substance misuse among youth, and using data to inform community efforts. All courses are endorsed by the International Certification and Reciprocity Consortium (IC&RC) and are certified by NAADAC.
